Parents and Friends Association

We are a very active organisation, comprised mostly of parents but also grandparents, villagers and former parents, arranging many fund raising events throughout the year such as:

  • Film nights or story telling sessions (for the children)
  • Fairs at Christmas and Easter
  • Sports Day Barbecue
  • Non uniform days
  • Bags2school
  • Quiz nights

This year we have subsidised transport costs for a whole range of trips and visits including the coach to the swimming pool in the summer term.

We also hold good quality second hand uniforms which are available all year at £1 per item.

If you are interested in joining the committee, please contact Rachel Mitchell the school secretary on 01935 881367 and she will put you in touch with the PFA Chairperson.

Even if you're not on the committee, your help is always appreciated, whether it's organising events, serving teas at the Christmas Fair, or just attending as many events as you can.

A little word from our current PFA Chair ...

I joined the PFA very briefly when we first moved here three years ago, I say briefly as I was expecting Florence at the time and so I didn’t want to get too involved. But having seen what the PFA do for the children at the school I became more & more interested and of course had a vested interest with (at the time) three children in the school.

I took on the role of Chair last school year and have enjoyed working with other parents and creating ideas on how to make money for the school, or just running a series of continuous events to keep up the funds. It is very gratifying to know that the money we all help raise goes towards the children’s school trips/pantos and other well-beings for the school. With the money we raise we are helping the children benefit from more activities that they may otherwise not be able to do, and for me, that is enough to take on the Chair’s role.

It is also a fun social experience, we enjoy our meetings and get to chat to other parents outside the school playground which is lovely – we’re a relaxed team and my ethos is to keep things relaxed and as enjoyable as possible! All the help offered from parents is hugely appreciated and we are continuingly encouraging parents to come forward with new ideas to keep up the interest and enthusiasm of the children, the parents….and the fundraisers!
